Android users: Are you worried about the Carrier IQ data logging issue?
details
Tons of news floating around this morning about Carrier IQ's software that's installed on nearly all mobile phones logs and reports nearly every action a user does; texts, calls, webpages, passwords, etc.
Do you use an affected device (Android, Nokia, BlackBerry)? What are your thoughts on this issue? Will it drive you to root your phone?
From Wired: Though the software is installed on most modern Android, BlackBerry and Nokia phones, Carrier IQ was virtually unknown until 25-year-old Trevor... Read more →

What are all the TV Everywhere apps? Help me build a comprehensive list!
details
I couldn't find a list of which networks have TV Everywhere-compatible apps, so I thought we could try and build a list here on gdgt. These are apps -- mainly for Android and iOS so far -- that let you access live and archive programming if you have a cable subscription.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:
  • HBO Go
  • CNN
  • ESPN
  • TBS
  • TNT
Post your additions below and I'll add them to the list here. Thanks!

The Kindle Fire and 802.1X
details
As a university student who's IT department provides wifi service specifically for mobile devices using 802.1x, access to certain credentials are the only way I'd be able to connect a Fire to the internet. Can anyone speak to whether or not the KF has those capabilities?
I checked the product page, and while Amazon doesn't specifically state that 802.1X is supported, it only mentions that ad-hoc and peer to peer enterprise connections are barred. Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding something... Read more →

What tablet should i get? And should I wait until after the holiday seasons?
details
Ok here we go!
At the moment, i'm logging around 3 books (two 500 pages and one 1000 pages). I've got around 100 training videos i need to wach but i can only wach them on my computer.
Bottom line is I need a tab. I've got a laptop already but the 2 hour battery life is not really cutting it + the fact that it ways a ton.
I need the tab ASAP but so many new ones are supposed to come out, I don't know what to do.
Should i buy one now or wait till after the holidays? It's kind of urgent. I was... Read more →

Sprint lays out LTE strategy. Will you switch?
details
Engadget reports that Sprint will start to release LTE devices as of mid-2012:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/07/sprints-lte-plans-detailed-phones-tablets-and-modems-coming-b/

Given that they are now getting the iPhone, they have a good partnership with Android going, and they are the only carrier to still have unlimited data plans for their phones, will this entice more people to switch?
