Google Android 2.0 (Eclair)
latest questions
I was reading up on people's thoughts on the Carrier IQ software (http://gdgt.com/question/android-users-are-you-wo... and I was mildly concerned. Before I started freaking out, I wanted to know how can I find out if this is actually on my device (Droid X)?

Will the Inspire 4G get SenseUI 4.0?
Will the Inspire 4G get SenseUI 4.0? I've read in several places that it will not, but I was slightly confused because I was told it would be getting Gingerbread eventually.

Best Android phone for development?
Which Android phone should I look at (from Ebay, Craigslist, etc.) which would be representative of the browsing and user experience on Android as a whole? I'm a developer needing to test websites across various mobile platforms. I have iOS, WebOS, and Windows Phone devices covered. I need to be able to test with Android. I could test with the emulator, but it's very slow. I'm mainly testing mobile websites, but may want to test apps from time-to-time too. I don't care about the carrier, because...

Is there a lock screen replacement for Android that supports unlock security?
Every lockscreen replacement I've seen in the Android market doesn't support unlock security (pin code, pattern, password). There any that do?

I'm hoping to start a mobile gaming review site focusing primarily on iOS however also including Android gaming.
The problem is that I live in Australia and don't have great access to Android devices. Does anyone know of a cost effective, 3" to 5" screen (tablet size not entirely out of the question but smaller size preffered), wifi enabled (3g unnecessary) Android device that I could use for Android game reviews? Am I also correct in assuming that it needs to be Android 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2 capable to be compatible with the latest games?
Anyone know of an app that can identify apps that drain your battery? I tried searching for them on the market, but nothing turns up.
Just battery widgets that report how much juice you have left. (I know you can dive into settings and find battery usage statistics, but on N1 system processes rank the highest and apps don't even register. I also use other battery saving strategies like airplane mode and lowest brightness possible.)
Does anyone know if U.S. Android phones have multi-language support (dictionary, keyboard and output) like the iPhone?
I'm currently using English, Chinese and French on iPod touch and I'm thinking about putting my money on Android (especially the Incredible). If there is multi-language support, is it through an official OS release, a hacked ROM, or the Android Market? Thanks for your help as I can't seem to find any answers?

Any tips on using Windows Live services on an Android phone (Milestone)?
I've just got a new Android phone (Motorola Milestone) and noticed that it isn't actually marking my Hotmail emails as read once I've read them (on the phone they are read, in Hotmail they are not). I can't find a setting to change this behaviour. Any ideas? There are heaps of options for replacing Live Messenger, and I have my calendar syncing to Google, which seems to be working. And of course all these services are available online as well. But I can't find a replacement...
