Who's best with the updates? Still a ways before the good Android tablets start to hit.
Presently, I'm torn between the Samsung Galaxy, and Notion Ink Adam. Although I could end up getting the WeTab or even HP's WebOS device. But I'm expecting most of these to ship with 2.1, with an upgrade to 2.2 and then maybe Gingerbread. After all, I'm still waiting for 2.2 to pushed to my TMobile Nexus One. So who currently seems to be the best manufacturer to get updates out? 1.5 to 1.6 (to 2.0) to 2.1 to 2.2. We need to reward these companies, so the other ones will...

When I heard that Twitter for Android was now out, I was excited to find out what a first party client would bring to the party. http://blog.twitter.com/2010/04/twitter-for-androi... However, it turns out that you have to have version 2.1 in order to even find it in the marketplace - I tried scanning the QR code and got nothing. This comes hot on the heals on the latest delay of the 2.1 upgrade for the Hero until June at the earliest, which is just the latest in a string of...

The very concept of running android on the iPhone is already amazing. The guys on seem to have something quite concrete. I'm looking forward to it.

Magics and Dreams not being upgraded!
I don't have one, but if I did I know this would suck. HTC has basically left their HTC branded android phones (ones without the Google Experience tie in) hanging, because they're not upgrading them past 1.5. If think if people are going to get serious with Android, their needs to be a better way to update. Here's the BGR story...

best soft keyboard replacement
iPhone still has the best finger-usable software keyboard by far, but for Android I quite like TouchPal (free). I've also heard that Better Keyboard ($2.99) is pretty good. which one of these do you like better? why? are there other replacement keyboards for Android worth trying?

Sense UI, Motoblur etc
When phones use these modified android UIs how do updates work, do you still get the update on the same day that google pushed it, or do you have to wait for HTC/moto etc to update first? Is the carrier another block?

Android 1.6 SDK now available, Donut on the way.
http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/15/android-1-6-sdk... Well it is now official Donut is coming to devices as early as October. The code has been finished for awhile now, and now the App devs now have a chance to make their apps work under donut. I am already running donut and hoping with the SDK out i can stop seeing so many breakage issues.

So far i’ve got - NubiNews - BBC News (great widget) - TaskKiller - Skymap - Google listen - SMS popup - Tune wiki - Wikitude - Last FM (in UK so no Pandora) - Beep Player (UK again) Games - XGalaga - Teeter - Robo Defense - Abduction (the best cow based gaming since Earthworm Jim) So any more recommendations???

Official Facebook app is now available
the official facebook app just came out. from what i have seen it is pretty solid. performance could be a little better as it isnt quite as good as the facebook app on my ipod touch. that will be fixed with future updates. the iphone app is already on its 3rd big iteration. i love the push to develop new apps for android. seems like we are picking up some market share.

Pandora is out!
Pandora is finally out for Android users, although some of the comments say it may not work with the Hero. As for the initial release and the fact i wasn't going to use Pandora until it came to Android i must say i am impressed. So who else has the app and what did you think

New Android Market coming with Android 1.6 (Donut)
This is an encouraging sign for developers. It makes me wish that I could actually write apps for Android. http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/03/android-1-6-mak...
Will someone please come out with some decent hardware?
I have a G1 which is great because of the Android OS. The only thing I would change is the G1's sluggish processor and grizzly bearish features (it's huge). The phones coming out are a great improvement, but they all have pretty much the same specs processor wise. Also they are all the same 2 form factors! Either you can get a full touch screen or a touch screen with landscape slide out keyboard. I like the keyboard versions, but I would like to see some variety with the new phones...
