Got this 1920x1200 monitor Christmas of 2009 I think? Had two of 'em, one fell off my desk and broke....wish I still had two!

x1200 monitors are hard to come by at resonable prices which sucks because I don't want 1080! That's for TV screens, not computer monitors....

This is a solid little work desktop. Quiet, compact, not for gaming though (obviously).

PSU is like 220 as well so there's not much headroom for a better graphics card, even though there is half-height PCI-E 16x available. No room for another hard disk either, really but 1TB onboard is nice. Core i3 and W7 feel like a really big step up in speed from the C2D and XP Pro on my old Thinkpad. A nice machine for like 400 bucks. Included keyboard was nice enough that I actually have been using it over my old MS one. Mouse sucks though.

2GB Memory Upgrade problem

Really like this netbook but thought it needed more memory. Tried to install additional memory and machine fails to boot with new memory. I set the CMOS Quick Boot option off but still will not boot. Contacted Gateway but they know nothing about memory upgrades but will talk about issue for $$. New Memory is Patriot 2GB DDR2 PC2 5300 667 Mhz SoDimm CL5 .

Keeping the heatsink clean..

Fairly easy to do.. Requires fresh TIM.. Heatsink paste.. 1. Enter the bottom access panel where the ram fan cpu bridge heatsink are located.. 2. Loosen screws.. for Fan heatsink assembly... Remove from laptop.. 3. There is 1 metal screw wingnut lock that holds the metal copper heatsink from cpu to fan assembly.. 4. Remove the wingnut carefully not losing it and separate the heatsink and fan assembly.. 5. Clean fan.. Clean Thermal paste.. 7. Reassemble heatsink fan wingnut assembly.. 6. Reapply... Read more →

Solid Laptop..

I like the construction of these Gateways.. Pretty rugged.. Nice Screens!.. Only problem is parts.. The plastic caps which cover monitor hinges aren't the best.. Parts can't really be sourced from Gateway directly (sadly) ...Heatsinks on the m-6750 arent the best.. Fans die.. Early.. Keep them clean..

Love this thing

The tablet functionality is great- I love taking handwritten notes but cannot hold on to a piece of paper for the life of me. This solves my problem beautifully. I have a nearly paper-sized surface to take notes on, and with OneNote I can search through all of my college notes instantly. I do my flash cards with the vista add-on "Ink Flash Cards" and I have unlimited scratch paper for chemistry calculations. I know that it hasn't been a big success but I think Microsoft hit it out... I upgrade my netbook from Vista to Win 7 and it is great. I would highly recommend doing this although it did take a lot of finagling to do it.

I have had this for a year of steady use. The color and contrast looks great when I have it side by side with other displays. Because they are now cheaper I think I might get a second one instead of moving on to something else.

Its a pretty good pc its one of the only computers i had that lasted me more than a year so far.. never had any problems.. except when u get the computer its set at 128mb of video and it has hybrid grafics so it goes up to 512mb and because of the 8gb it can go to 3.3gb of total grafics. and it has a wonderful quad core and i Love it !!!

These are a must:
NFC
DLNA
Bluetooth
at least 1 USB 3.0 port but must have at least 2 usb ports
An HDMI port (In and out if possible
touch screen (possibly a convertible laptop) and a camera (for video chat. i don't plan on sing this for photography. it looks stupid)
Can't be over 14 in in width, High-Res Display.
Optical drive not necessary. looking for a thin laptop.

What network chipset does the Gateway LT2802U netbook use?

What really sold me on this gateway was the salesman who stated to me that yes it plays bluray. my video is buggy

I came home after a week away and my video would halt and give me colored lines after Windows vista 64-bit boots. It worked fine before. I was wondering if any other users have had hardware failure of the 4850 card? I'm going through tech support but they are trying to attribute it to software and none of there solutions are working. Refresh rate Issues

The display recommends I set the settings in windows at 60 hertz. So under nvidia control panel I select 60 hertz, and when i say yes keep this settings, it goes back to 59. When I try to edit the settings under windows display properties, explorer crashes Any help is greatly appreciated
