I was thinking about the many consequences of the HP Touchpad meltdown we all just witnessed, and I am thinking the biggest consequence may be one that doesn't end up affecting HP at all. That consequence is to scare consumers away from taking a chance on any but the two established options for tablets, Apple and Google, and thereby establishing them as an immovable duopoly for the next three to five years. Some may point out that the problem with the TouchPad in the first place was a lack of...

To Mike Arrington. Everybody's giving credit to Apple, but there's no real evidence that they were working on the iPad until they made the announcement in January. Sure, Apple is the second to get a tablet out, but why shouldn't they have been first; all they had to do was port iPhone OS. Their real tablet OS, 4.0, won't come out until fall. Everyone else had to start from scratch.
http://www.engadget.com/photos/joojoo-unboxing/ I know it's too expensive... I know it has limited functionality... but it's just soo sexy. Everyone is hating on this device; it won't sell many units, but I want it so badly! The 16:9 screen looks beautiful and if I had any way of loading my own videos on there, it would be a done deal... In a couple months, you'll notice everyone and their grandmother with an iPad, but you won't see these bad boys... It's a unique product...
If there were doubts about Fusion Garage's viability before, I think the news today confirms things. Reported first by Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5505724/joojoo-tablet-court-do... ) and confirmed by Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/30/more-bad-juju-... ), FG has sold ~75 units (90 devices, less 15 returns, as reported in the subpoenaed documents). To put that in perspective, most products of any kind...

Another gadget that had high hopes and ambitions, relegated to the garbage bin of gadget history. So long, JooJoo. I'd pour out a 40 for you, but honestly, I never really cared about you. http://gizmodo.com/5505724/joojoo-tablet-these-cou...
From Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/10/joojoo-revamps-... This thing is looking like a very attractive alternative to the iPad! If it was made more a more reputable company, I think I'd definitely choose this over the iPad. Being able to view the "full web" is a big plus in my opinion.
Almost two years after announcing it they still haven't released. I think they gave everyone else enough time to design and release competing products. Maybe Arrington should have kept it under wraps a while longer? Right now nobody would choose this product over the Ipad. The only option they have is to lower the price to their original $200 price point. I don't see the point of even releasing it otherwise.
Looking at this device I just cant seem to figure out where the hell I would use it. If you say its great as a couch tablet kinda thing that you can quickly jump into, I would say there is the iPod touch for that. Not only is it half the price, double the storage and can do locally stored music, videos and play games etc. Or better yet wait a few months untill chrome OS comes along on some sub 300$ netbooks with the ARM architecture You say its better than a netbook because it can do 1080p, I...

Yes, I said it: I kind of want one. Key words being: "kind of." Of course, I'm not going to pay $500 for something that is basically a living/bathroom web browser. I also feel a little bad for the JooJoo if the Apple Slate/Tablet/SecondComing actually materializes. I'm not a complete Apple iFanboy, but I am smart enough to understand that if Apple does release a Tablet, it will sell at least 5x as many iTabs then the JooJoo. Then there's the name: JooJoo which rhymes with a...

Where to begin? $499? Shipping in 8-10 weeks? Not sure who else watched the webcast, but the device experience looked really laggy and bad. Maybe Arrington shouldn't be so unhappy about how things worked out.
Got a briefing request from TabCo to check out the new tablet they're unveiling on August 15th. They've been doing a stealth campaign for the past few weeks teasing it (their website is http://whoistabco.com/ ) and the best guess seems to be that they are somehow related to Nokia and are doing a Meego tablet. Anyone else know anything or have any guesses?
I'm almost mildly interested in getting one and am wondering if performance has been at all if they have done any updates, or if anyone has any experienced with the product. Thanks.
