The X100 is an exasperating conundrum of a camera, combining excellent image quality, solid build and a superb viewfinder with sluggish operation and eccentric, buggy firmware. If you're prepared to put up with its numerous oddities and faults then it will repay you with superb results. quote

If you have the bucks and you want the best photo quality possible, the Fujifilm FinePix X100 delivers. But definitely try before you buy to make sure the focusing systems won't make you crazy.

The Fuji FinePix X100 is a very impressive fixed lens camera...despite the price. It offers supberb photo quality, good performance (in most respects), a rangefinder-style body with a one-of-a-kind viewfinder, and plent of manual controls. The camera does have its issues...but for a first generation...

We’d love to see 50mm and 85mm versions in the future, as the X100 looks to pave the way for a very strong path in the high-spec compact market for Fujifilm. This could be the beginning of something all the more spectacular. The X100 is an undeniable belter of a camera.

Fujifilm have married the best of the past, in the multitude of external controls, leaf-shutter, optical viewfinder and stunning appearance, with some cutting-edge features, most notably the hybrid optical / electronic viewfinder, which really is a revelation to use.

A very intriguing and interesting camera that is, in the end, let down by terrible firmware. Fuji's camera was probably the most anticipated camera of 2011; a very rangefinder style camera with a completely innovative and original optical / digital viewfinder. The ballyhoo'ed viewfinder doesn't...

Pros: Very sharp lens, amazing low light, flexible interface, good battery life. Cons: Complicated interface, poor AF focus notification, no optical manual focus aid. Take away: Very good at most things, doesn't do others at all. Surprisingly good option for landscape and even architecture...

Overall this is the best camera I have ever used. Best for shooting people in the streets, they don't even notice the camera.

I want to love this camera. I really do. The image quality is great and it looks fabulous. But it takes days to start up, its focus (especially in low light) is abysmal, and manual focus is all but useless. At the end of the day, I use this camera less than I used my GF1 which I'm somewhat...

It's a flawed gem. It was so close to being incredible but it is just very good. Poor manual focus implementation is a major issue for me. I also can't forgive such an inaccurate optical finder on a fixed focal length camera. Having said all this I did get some pictures that would have been hard...

Overall the camera takes decent pictures, when it's working. The 35mm equivalent lens is makes it good for taking daily pictures. But it also mean that this is not the lens for taking super wide landscape or indoor architecture photos. The start up time of this camera is really slow, sometime it...
