The compact Freetalk Everyman HD is good for casual Skype video chatting, but the microphone and autofocus are inconsistent and mediocre.

Despite some of the glitches we saw during testing, we believe that FreeTalk has built a top notch product. When the HD functionality is up and running -- which isn't an issue with a stable Skype release -- the picture quality is incredible.

At the company’s suggested $49.99 price, you’re paying an average price for a 720p HD webcam but you’re losing out on a built-in microphone. ... This would make a decent gift for grandma or grandpa who want to use Skype but don’t have the time or patience to fiddle around with settings.
