Conclusion: We like it

Light, discreet, versatile, and extremely easy to use, the Fitbit is still our favorite fitness device on the market. The Ultra adds only minor incremental improvements from the previous model (like counting stairs), and it's not the most incredibly durable device around, but it's well worth a hundred bucks to know exactly how active you are on a minute-by-minute basis. Just don't lose the thing, okay?

Fitbit is as easy to use as ever, but the features added to the second generation are too gimmicky to help justify that $100 price tag.

The $99.95 Fitbit Ultra offers the same great features and engaging backend analytical tools that the original model did. Admittedly, though, it's not as fancy as higher-priced devices like the $149 Nike FuelBand and Motorola MotoActv that can sync wirelessly directly to iPhones and Android...

While it would be nice if it had Bluetooth for wireless syncing, Fitbit's ease of use and wide range of features will satisfy anyone from couch potatoes to gym rats.

Fitbit Ultra is a sleek, sturdy, and affordable device that can help you monitor your general physical activity level. It's meant for casual users, not serious athletes.

If you’re a hardcore runner, biker, luger, or anything else, this is probably not the best device. A sports watch with GPS and heart-rate monitor would be far superior.

If you know that you are an active person already, then you probably don't need the Fitbit Ultra. If, however, you are on the cusp of changing your lifestyle, and getting up off the sofa, then this could just be the kickstart you need.

The reason I like the Fitbit, after all, is that it's unobtrusive and I don't have to physically enter information on a small device or start and stop an app.

Overall the Fitbit Ultra is a nice device. I use it to track my daily activity throughout the day. It has done a good job of tracking my climbs up the stairs at work or at my building when I get home. It only seems to track steps up which i guess makes sense. The motivational or supportive...

A FitBit and a little OCD can go a long way I'm the type of person that typically says "I'm tired just listening to you" when people talk about exercising or running a marathon or such. I've just never had the desire for exercise. So when the time came that I wanted / needed to start getting...

Totally digging this little device. It tracked my sleep perfectly last night, and seems very accurate (when worn on the hip) in tracking stairs and steps. I'm glad I opted for this over the Aliph Jawbone Up, I don't really need another thing to wear on my wrist.

It's a great product but I'm not sure it offers enough functionality to be worth the price tag. Most of what makes it useful is the web app, and Lose It! has a free web app that is (in my opinion) better and easier to use, as well as great native Android and iOS apps. If you're in the market for...

I love love love my fitbit. If I had a complaint, it would be for them to look at different ways for it to clip on. And a way to use it durring lap swimming. I love it. I wear it every day.

So far I am impressed with the unit and the website associated with it. However the App crashes every single time I try to use it on my 4S and iPad. I can't use even the most basic functions. You start it up and it crashes. Half way to a great product.

I rather like the Fitbit. It's a pedometer on steroids that does a lot of clever things, like measuring your basal metabolic rate. The thing about the Fitbit is that it isn't just the hardware: you have to use the website too, and that's where things get pretty powerful. You can track sleep,...

The Fitbit Ultra has been a noted and worthwhile improvement over the original; the web tools at Fitbit.com could still use some refinement. The device itself is small, discrete, and sturdy. It measures one's steps, both in steps and in distance, activity, stairs climbed, calories spent, and...

I don't enjoy exercise and always feel like technology will make me stay with it longer. At this point (4 days with a fitbit) and I am tracking my food, water, exercise, sleep, and steps all online. The process is simple, and I have actually enjoyed it. I have not paid for the premium service...

I like the extreme ease in setting this thing up. Just plug it in and create your account on the Fitbit.com website. Then just start 'wearing' it, and make sure every now and then you are within 20 feet of your computer. That's all! Two weeks I can wear the littly thingy without any issues and...

The fitbit is overall a great device. The biggest problem for me is that I forget to put it on in the morning because its so small.

I love this product and have been using it for over a year now. With this device as a tool along with the company's free website, I have been motivated enough to lose over 20 pounds now. It helps quantify my activity level every day and it motivates me to do better because i can compete with...

Sadly very easy to lose. I'm now on my second one. Very easy to use, superior food tracking to the Up (even though the food database is a little lacking) and the dashboard is a one-stop shop.
