Detailed review
if you already have the fitibt i don’t think you need to upgrade to this one especially if you are just coming from the Ultra. if you have the original fitbit its worth considering if you want the floors climbed and a smaller form factor.
This new Fitbit One is a smaller device with a better display and a new charging dock, and a new “Sync” plug. you can also sync directly to your iOS device now where you couldn’t before. You can also sync with the included receiver.
If you are new to the Fitbit this is a great little device. You can put it in your pocket or clip it some where on your person. It tracks your steps, floors climbed, and distance traveled. At night it also can be used to track your sleep. All of this data is collected and posted to the Fitbit site and also on the App for your iOS device or Android device. For the iOS devices you can sync the fitbit directly this is not yet supported on the Android app.
What sets the fitbit apart from devices like the Jawbone UP, and the Nike Fuel band is the data It collects. All the collected data is put into a very easy to understand web based summary page and app on your phone. when you start adding what you eat you can get an even better picture of your daily activities and eating habits.
Its such a small little device that it just doesn’t get in the way at all. Its really easy to forget you are waring it.
Fitbit also has a scale that will wirelessly send your weight information to the fitibt site. Also if you have the withings scale you can has your weight sent to fitbit automatically also.
