- Durability Construction is made to last.
- Portability It can go anywhere and is rugged in design.
- Ease of use Current model is limited to Wireless 802.11b networks only, limiting users to a slower protocol than the current Wireless N standard.
- Design and form factor The glass-top design and bubbled-plastic base are sleek and modern. The base provides a stable platform that will stay level on most bathroom floors.
Detailed review
Elegantly minimalist in design aesthetics, the Aria Scale provides accurate weight and BMI/Body Fat percentages, and logging capabilities via a wireless interface.
Setup is a snap. Like its activity tracker counterparts in the Fitbit line, the Aria integrates easilly with a variety of web, computer, and mobile device apps, as well as many 3rd-party health and diet planning services.
Only downside is that the wireless network connection is limited to 802.11b networks, Since I run an all wireless N. network at home, and didn't want to drop back to a slower b/g/n compatibility mode, addition of another wireless router was required. WiFi capabilities in the scale could use an update.

However, I am concerned about the accuracy of the scales — occasionally they go haywire and show with a weight that 80+ kilos above, but my main concern is the variation from repeated measures.
The details below are from multiple weighings over a 10 minute period in which there was zero reason for my weight to vary (scales are on a hard tiled floor)
March 30 at 1:09PM Measurement 98.5 kg 33.3% fat
March 30 at 1:08PM Measurement 98.5 kg 33.2% fat
March 30 at 1:07PM Measurement 98.1 kg 33.2% fat
March 30 at 1:07PM Measurement 98.6 kg 33.2% fat
March 30 at 1:05PM Measurement 98.9 kg 33.0% fat
March 30 at 1:03PM Measurement 98.5 kg 32.8% fat
March 30 at 12:54PM Measurement 98.5 kg 32.8% fat
March 29 at 10:31AM Measurement 97.1 kg 32.7% fat
March 29 at 10:30AM Measurement 97.1 kg 32.7% fat
March 29 at 10:30AM Measurement 97.6 kg 32.8% fat
The 3 measures yesterday over a 2-minute period were in the range 97.1–97.6 kg
The 7 measure today over a 15-minute period are in the range 98.1–98.9 kg
The 1+kg increase over a single day when there was no specific change in diet, exercise, etc indicates inaccuracy.
The variation of 0.8 Kg in the recorded weights over a 15-minute period today also indicates inaccuracy.
