I haven't requested new specs be added since Engadget misled me in to believing the iPhone 4 was Pentaband. But that phone and the Galaxy S series phones have left me bothered by a few specs. Such is the pace of the industry that a little over a year after launch the spec sometimes feels hopelessly out of date.
I know that gdgt isn't supposed to be a catch-all database and I know that not every single one of these suggestions will be implemented. (Though if you did implement everything I would be very happy) Some of these are sorely needed so please consider this list.
General
Operating System
(Perhaps some system to let version be added when an OS/Platform is added)
"iPhone / OSX" should be renamed iOS
A checkbox for Manufacturer Skins.
I can understand not adding Meego, If I could do it I would even if only under versions for Other - Linux based
Versions for Android
1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0
Versions for Blackberry
4.1, 4.2, 4.5, 4.6, 5.0, 6.0

Style
Checkboxes for Portrait and Landscape Sliders (checking both indicating something like the Ocean 2 or Duo)
Input
Dropdown under QWERTY keyboard for 3, 4 and 5 rows
Dropdown under touchscreen for Virtual QWERTY and Handwriting recognition. At least just the first one so people stop checking QWERTY keyboard for touchscreen only devices.
Trackpad under Navigation Type for things like the Backflip, the Charm or the rumored PSP phone
Power
Trickle charging checkbox with options for Solar, such as, the Puma Phone, Samsung Blue Earth and the Samsung Crest Solar (E1107) and Kinetic Power for the Ulysse Nardin Chairman and potentially other phones

A drop down under records video for resolution

A Drop Down under flash for Xenon, Dual LED, and LED flashes
Storage
SDXC and MicroSDXC should probably be added at some point, probably not now.
Connectivity
Under Bluetooth; 3.0 and 4.0 (The Nokia N8 and Samsung Galaxy S and Wave 723 phones have 3.0)
Carriers
See: gdgt.com/discuss/world-carrier-support-currently-t...
I still think the UK would the best next expansion for this.
Radio Type
WiMax Should be added to the Basic Standards, especially now that 2 phones are using it in the US. (As well the first 4g phone; the HTC Max 4g being used in other parts of the world.)
WiMax bands
2500 (This is the band Clearwire/Sprint uses) 2300 (for the Max4G)
LTE should be added Under GSM, the Samsung Craft is supposedly launching next month.
HSPA+ is also here in the form of the G2.
Display
Could 960X640, 854x480 and 840x480 be added to the default display resolutions. There is more pages of 800x480 phones in the database then 480x320 ones.
Hardware
Dual Core processor checkbox. Qualcomm has some in the Pipe.
GPU Support perhaps i’ve heard a lot about PowerVR SGX540 of the Galaxy S phones and the G2’s Adreno 205
Sensors
6 axis gyroscope
Other features
Kickstand yes/no
Under TV out checkboxes for HDMI and Composite (The Galaxy S has both)
Also I don't say this enough anymore, Thanks for all your hard work making this site awesome!
gdgt cellphone spec update request
I would definitely have to second these things. Most everything here would be very appropriate to add to specs pages. I actually started a thread several months back suggesting the 4G WiMax / LTE options be added, unfortunately nobody seemed to follow up on it, even though the Evo was launching at the time. Nice job putting this list together, incredibly thorough!
