using my samsung galaxy tab 7.0 as a hot spot thru verizon
Is anyone else having trouble staying connected to the internet with their galaxy tab? I am having an awful time and neither Samsung or Verizon has any suggestions except replacing my tab.
Keyboard nerd correction
http://gdgt.com/diatec/filco/majestouch/2/
So I added the Camouflage edition keyboards, and they've been aggregated as Majestouch 2 - which is the name covering *all* of Diatec's latest keyboards right now. This particular group should be "Camouflage". Thanks

Why so late to mobile gdgt?
Why hasn't mobile been the focus from the beginning? It seems that most research is showing that mobile usage is increasing and even exceeding PC/web usage. Some have even declared the web dead! So why hasn't gdgt been specifically designed for mobile? Why focus on a redesign (gdgt 2.0) instead of ..m. gdgt or an app, which could bring many new opportunities... More importantly.. was there a greater need (from the user) for a redesign than a mobile site? I personally would have appreciated a...

Abandon the Blackberry?
I don't think RIM should abandon the Blackberry but it would be a good idea to add the Android for sure!

Typo "veiwed" on every thread page
I just noticed that on every discussion/question/feedback thread page, in the right hand column it says "This discussion has been veiwed" [sic] X times under the list of users who follow the discussion.
Examples:

Add OS to "additional gadget info" for applicable gadgets
A laptop running one Windows 7 is much different from the same hardware running Windows Vista or Ubuntu version Lucid. If "OS" was a definable category in the additional gadget info, that could add value to additional gadget info, especially if that were then integrated into the page FOR that OS.
Just a suggestion! ^_^

Blackberry.
It's such a great brand, they won't just discard the name but Android is the future and they know it.

adding/updating information on products already in the DB.
How to I add a photo or other information to the DB? Also is specific feature information added (i.e. whether a external HD has USB2.0, 3.0, eSATA or a combination of the three.
Possible bug in email notifications?
I have Peter on my list, and his post about RIM os showing in my feed, but I never got an email about it. I have everything checked off in my email notifications and have received an email about everything else in my feed, just not Peter's. I checked my Spam folder and there were no gdgt emails in there. Are his items specifically blocked from being sent out or is there a bug that causes the notifier to skip super user accounts? Come to think of it, I haven't seen Ryan in my Inbox in ages...

Blackberry Playbook vs Kindle Fire
I have now had the Blackbery Playbook 64 GB and the Kindle Fire for several months. I've been using them side by side and have to admit I like them both. The large memory on the Playbook has been a plus for me.
The Playbook is really more of a general purpose computer than the Kindle Fire. It is more versatile. I use both the Playbook and the Fire to display high rez images from my camera for clients. The Playbook has a better resolution and color, but both are nice. Since Christmas, more &... Read more →

Adding additional products to my profile
How do I add additional products to my profile? I've found the add to database link, but I've gone brain dead and can't remember how to get to my product list

add turntables/record players
lots of old and new ones people can review - consider adding it (along with some more specific audio equipment, such as DAT, cassette, reel-to-reel, CD). you can really get some traction with the audiophile community if you give the ability for people to rate, review, and post some audio-specific stuff here (spectrum analysis charts, comparisons audio uploads, etc.)

Internal Hard Drives
Why aren't internal hard drives one of the categories? I think internal hard drives are as important as externals. Furthermore, its up to gdgt if they want to make laptop internal and desktop internal separate or make it just "Internal Hard Drive".

Announcing the gdgt Databox with Engadget!
I'm extremely stoked (and more than a little proud) to announce a brand new gdgt product! It's called the Databox, and it's already live over on a little tech news site you may have heard of called Engadget.
It's no secret gdgt has the best consumer electronics database and collection of detailed user reviews around -- just like it's no secret Engadget has the fastest, most comprehensive coverage of the electronics world -- and we've have long dreamt of how we might marry the two complementary... Thanks for all the great memories!
Hey folks,
Today is my last day at gdgt. I joined the team almost 3 years ago -- back in January of 2009. Time flies when you're having fun! It's been an incredibly wild and exhilarating ride, but it's time for me to pursue some new opportunities in 2012.
I want to thank the gdgt community for making my job an absolute blast and helping create something awesome! It's been a fun experience chatting with everyone here, on Twitter / Facebook / Google+, and even talking in person at our gdgt live... Read more →
