If you own a digital camera and a smartphone, the Eye-Fi Mobile X2 card is the perfect link between the two, letting you wirelessly transfer your photos from your camera to your computer or phone—even when there's no Wi-Fi to be found.

If you want to upload pictures from your camera to Facebook or Flickr without having to make a detour to a computer, you could get a camera with built-in Wi-Fi support. Or you could keep the camera you already have, and add an Eye-Fi Mobile X2 card. The X2 works like any other memory card, and also lets you upload your shots to the internet over Wi-Fi — or it can transfer them to your smartphone, even if you're nowhere near a Wi-Fi network. So, go ahead and impress your Instagram followers with pictures you'd never be able to get with your phone. Just make sure to charge your camera's battery first, since the X2 needs a lot of juice to transfer those files.

If you're someone who shoots a lot of photos on actual cameras and would like to have them automagically appear on your smartphone or computer, it's hard not to recommend the Mobile X2. But at $80, you might first want to consider just how much you'll really use (or even need) it.
