Let me preface this by saying, I like to print out the photos I take with my smartphone and stick them up on a corkboard or wall. I have generally printed my own photos at home. My current printer of choice is the Kodak ESP 7, with its low ink cost and multitudes of connectivity (pictbridge, usb, wifi, ethernet). It prints great photos as long as you pick decent paper and have enough ink in the cartridges. However recently, I feel like it is more expensive to run than printing out photos at...

I finally got rid of my Epson WorkForce 600 after the black print head spontaneously stopped working, followed by software that stopped talking to each other. I was too busy to deal with trying to fix it (I even bought print head cleaner) so I treated myself to a new printer, plus I really needed an actual real working printer at my disposal. I've only had my Canon PIXMA MX870 for around 12 hours now, and I don't know if I've only dealt with crappy crappy printers or if no one has...

Does anyone have this working? The only reason I bought this printer was because it offered wireless scanning and presumably offered that to macs, since I bought it at an Apple store (it was $50 after rebate with purchase of a MacBook Pro). The Software from Epson is ridiculous. The installer takes forever, installing countless separate components all with their own installer. The computer is unusable during the install process because for some reason it steals focus constantly. What a...

This is a long read. Feel free to respond to the title question without reading. My wife and I got an HP Photosmart C4795 something or the other that was on sale at Best Buy 2 years ago. It's the one with the gold/bronze trim and it uses HP 60 ink. It has been a headache from week 1 but, we hesitate to get something else in the same price range to be disappointed again. We are both in grad school, and need to print out papers, journal articles, scan articles, and copy forms. I liked that the HP...

By quality, i mean actual *print* quality doesn't have to be great. I don't print often, and when I do print, its like a concert ticket or something that still requires paper proof. Ideally, I'd like a printer that is the size of the Neat Company's single document scanner. Even if it only printed black and one sheet at a time, then I could store it. So- does anyone have a good suggestion for something that exists now that is close? Hopefully under $100, but willing to pay a bit more than $100 if...
My old inexpensive Canon 8400F was a great scanner — flatbed for paper, negative holder for film, and it also had software that let it double as a copier. It only did 4800dpi, but that's enough for my needs.
But the drivers aren't Lion compatible, so I'm shopping for a replacement. And the major scanners like the Epson V700 are expensive, in the $500 range. Any bargains out there?
I'm thinking of getting a new printer when my current Canon runs out of ink next as it seems like we are always replacing the inks. I'm looking at the Epson Artisan 730 and Epson Stylus NX430 because of there Airprint ability. But I'm not sure if the claims of "Approx. Black 330 pages, Colour Composite 510 pages" (730) and "Approx. Black 255 pages, Colour Composite 350 pages" (NX430) are good numbers? And also if the two extra tanks in the 730 will make it's cost per page higher or lower? Any help...
I'm looking to buy a printer for a non profit theater company. Right now they are using an HP color Laserjet CM2320nf, which takes $125 per cartridge. we do fairly minimal printing from it. Is this a good solution, or would an ink based unit work better?
