Zii vs A5S
I'm still leaning towards the egg or similar. But the WVGA resolution and superior looking GPS on the Archos are tempting.

The only thing i see concerning the Archos5 is that Android is running ontop of the Archos software, which won't be to terrible but i will wait and see what the reviewers say about it before i can say if its bad or not. The Zii definetly has more potential as a PMP with Android while Archos can play .VOB formats and has 500gb on the high end models, so i could rip most of my DVD collection to it and watch it like that. I think what I am going to end up doing is having the Archos for video viewing and web surfing, and the Zii as an app centric media player for work since it is a lot smaller and easily hidden.
I think the Archos is going to clock in to a more video oriented device since the DVR station can record video for watching later, which for me would be tremendously awesome, especially if Dish and Archos were to partner or if Dish and Android where to partner so i could start watching my DVR stuff off of Android. I think the 5" screen is going to be perfect for video watching on the go, plus the battery life in this is awesome. I could see myself automatically downloading pandora once i get it.
Well they do have the splitter and i think i am going to invest in one of those since i have been listening to a lot of pandora at work and when my phone dies i have to switch to my creative, which has about the same quailty of music. I really want a phone that has creative quality output in it, my Zen blows my phone out of the water in terms of quality.
Good thing all Androids look to be getting 3.5 as standard. I am waiting for the second keyboard version of the G1 before i upgrade. I am kind of hoping its the touch pro 2(or 3).
Yeah i was almost, almost sold on the N900 but in the end, i just can not see myself getting away from android. The dev base is growing exponentially, and everything i really need in a phone is already on my G1. I would love to have something like the N900 in a non phone version but I think the Archos 5 is going to fill that book first since it also runs Android and plays the video files i want. The bigger screen is a plus as well. I think in the end i am going to have like 5 pmp/mids and at least 2 phones. I really want the Geeksphone as my next phone.
Yeah we are going to end up with so many devices due in part to this site. The N900 will be my next phone with a personal ETA of about December-January (The later being a year after I got my G1). Small details are what did it for me. Flash for the camera, FM transmitter, manufacturer tethering support, and the Flash in the browser (which I know is coming to Android but not in as refined a form for a while).
Zii seems like the best thing to replace my iPod due to the app support actually being there now. (I only want a mint app now, and maybe some fantasy football love.) and the promise of Creative's codec muscle and sound quality. With those and 112 GB of space between the two I think i can hold off on portable stuff for a few years.
For the bigger screen and ultimate codec support I think I'll pick up a Touchnote 1028X for the 10 in WXGA screen with 720p support and with Windows 7 I think that will be the couch/bed machine. Which is interesting for two reasons its the same price as the N900 (!!!) and the fact that it is the next step up at this point which speaks volumes about how powerful these PMPs/MIDs/Smartphones are getting.

Yeah I am with you on all of that, except I am still not sold on the N900 and only because despite everything i think Android is going to grow a lot faster then Maemo, if only because Android has Google behind it, and i would imagine every google app will eventually appear on Android in some way or form in an official matter. I like Nokia and Maemo looks awesome but it doesn't have the backing like Android does which is why I am not going to switch.
Ah thats how to do it, I may do that with the Geeksphone, but i have two upgrades early next year, so I maybe buying another Android ontop of the other two. I may end up getting an N900 just to play with though, it does have an awesome UI.
