You've got to be kidding?
These earphones are the worst I've ever owned....they are uncomfortable, hurt my ears, and have lousy sound quality....who ever wrote that intro must have copied if from the Apple propaganda page...
i like them. ive gone through 3 pair in a year. not durable. but i dont mind the quaility.
I hate having to adjust them to "direct" the sound into my ears! you know, considering they are earphones!!! so much sound is lost and thats why I switched to Bose in-ear headphones and v-moda buds....
Easily on par with the offerings of say...Coby or Magnetbox, these craphones are one of the biggest mysteries of technology: How something so incredibly terrible keeps getting good things said about it.
not really sure why anyone would spend over 50.00 on ear buds. i am tough on mine and take them everywhere. If the rubber on them breaks before one year Apple will replace them. I have done it twice. Free of charge. its covered under there manuf warn.
that is because they cost 2 cents in production and you can hear that ;) Everybody has their own requirement for their earphones... but quality is definitely not one for the apple earphones :)
People will spend money on headphones (even over $50) because they want good sound quality - something these aural disasters just can't deliver. I have spent about $50 on v-moda earbuds and $100 on Bose in-ear headphones and I have enjoyed my portable music more ever since...
The iPod buds are - as usual for Apple - designed in detail, but ultimately poorly engineered. The range of successful ear-fitting for them is comparatively narrow and any suboptimal fit results in crappy sound. If you can get a good fit, both the old and new buds have fairly decent performance (as far as what the drivers push out goes) for pack-ins - but the old ones were a little too big for many to get a good fit (so as a huge generalisation women got the raw sonic end of the deal), and the new ones are conversely a little too small (and in another sweeping generalisation, men now get the bad deal).
Fit is a key factor to getting decent sound out of almost any earbud and especially in-ear types.
