Wondering how people have hardware-hacked their Minis

Hey,

So I recently Got my VX Revolution to use with my Mini, and am looking at hacking it so I don't need to plug the dongle in all the time.

Has anyone done anything similar, or something crazier? Let me know!

I would like to start doing some major hacks once the warranty runs out, and I'm trying get a glimpse of what people have done.

Please don't post about loading Mac OSX onto it, cause there are already a few discussions about that :)

I have, and it feels much better when you completely void your warranty.
(Windows 7 for me thanks, but let's all just run what works for us. :) )

I originally installed an internal USB connector within my Mini 9 specifically for use with a Logitech Nano receiver, but now that connector hosts a 16GB flash drive for more storage, as I have switched over to a BT mouse.

The USB connector is located where the unused WWAN slot is and utilizes the unused USB connections found on the WWAN connector itself, as well as a tap into 5 volts DC at the circuit board for power.

Lots of folks have modified their netbooks, some extensively.

My particular project as well as many others pertaining to the Dell Mini models can be found at www.mydellmini.com.

Many other neat netbook hacks can be found at www.hackaday.com and other fine hacking and mod sites found on the interweb.

Oh nice! I was under the impression that if you put any kind of usb device inside, you would need to re-wire one of the external ports...

That's good to know :)
