Wireless data?

I have heard rumbling rumors of Verizon perhaps providing service for this device.

Seems like if this e-book reader gets wireless downloading of content, it could really be great. The price point is getting much closer to where I would like it to be, and with touch screen, and lower e-book prices, a wireless connection just may be the thing to put it over the edge for me to buy.

Anyone hearing other rumors of this thing getting wireless connectivity?

Everything I've seen (including the support PDF) seems to indicate that there won't be any.

I have the PRS-505 and i love it. Although wireless is nice, I fail to see the need for it. Even less needed is touch. I don't get touch on an eBook reader. Unless you use it for school or something and want to take notes, underline, etc. THEN, touch and the ability to markup the page makes a lot of sense.

As a student, I am definetly interested in being able to tale notes and stuff with PDFs and word docs. The wirelss data thing just seems like that sexy killer feature that people want to see, but ur certainly righ that it is not a necessity of useability.

What your looking for is an iRex iLiad thats very hackable and will handle your notes.

Or for loads of file type support, and connectivity you will have to join me in the wait for the plastic logic eReader.

engadget posted that when Sony announced the new 300 and 600 readers, that a unannounced model with wi-fi built in would be announced later. I hope that's true, I'm looking forward to that one and not sure if I want to wait for that or pick up the 600 or wait overall to see what comes of the rumors of the Apple Tablet or what the crunchpad or elogic readers will yield.
