Windows 7?

Forgot I had this thing kickin' around (along with the 1st gen, but that won't even discover) and thought I'd give it a shot when the batteries died on my Logitec and I needed to finish something.

I forgot how much I loved typing on this thing... and with it's laptop form factor, it's surprisingly freed up considerable space.

However, the fn key is useless. Home, Delete and End are the main ones I'm concerned with, so has anyone gotten this thing to work?

Most of my work is done on a MacBook. So the fn+Delete, Command+Back, etc Mac commands are ingrained (hell, I do it on PC computers)... so this may even turn out to be the best PC keyboard possible for me.

Has anyone managed to get this thing mapped? I've swapped some things around with SharpKeys, but it will not register anything for the fn key.

I have the first gen keyboard and everything works fine for me. The fn key, along with all the special function keys (volume, brightness, play/pause, etc). I guess make sure you have the Boot Camp drivers installed (does the fn key work on your macbook's keyboard?), and maybe try updating the keyboard's driver. When I first paired the keyboard I had to right-click on the device and add the HID services, so that's something else you can try.

Thanks for the response. I definitely left out one important thing: this isn't a Bootcamp OS.

This is just on my PC Box, looking to see if there's anything out there that enables the fn key, among other tweaks.

i can't even get mine to connect to windows 7 using boot camp on my macbook pro. it sees it but then it either stalls on the connecting to device screen or gives me a meaningless error.

Found this on another forum and thought it might apply - "Look for something called rktools.exe- it's a collection of windows tools including one which will allow you to change the mapping of keys on your keyboard so that you can set one to send the fn signal."

I've been using KeyTweak for a long time and it just works. I basically set it and forget it and every time someone asks this very question, I have to look it up either in Add/Remove Programs or by Googling it if I'm on someone else's PC as it is so rare that I even think about it. I recently installed it on my Windows 7 Pro computer at home and it works fine.

Best of all it's a free tool. Here's the author's webpage.

Just tried KeyTweak, and it's not seeing the fn key either.

I think I'm going to use this as a good excuse to pickup the Microsoft Arc keyboard :)
