Will the S90 charge over USB?

Hi guys!

I just bought an S90 today - it's my first "serious" camera, and I'm anxious to dive in head-first. I bought it today (and paid retail - sigh) since my wife and I are embarking on a ~1000 mile road-trip tomorrow.

One question that a few minutes on Google couldn't answer: Will the S90 charge it's internal battery via USB from my MacBook Pro, or do I need to bring the AC charger with us?

Thanks in advance,

Huxley

You'll need to bring your battery charger for the S90 with you. So far I've had good battery life with mine, so hopefully you won't have to top yours off too often too. Have a great trip and take lots of pics!

Hey RNELL and welcome to gdgt! I have a PROMASTER SDHC card in my S90 gdgt.com/promaster/high-speed-professional/secure-... , but that's mostly because that was the best card they had available at the camera store I happened to go to during a somewhat recent trip. IMHO I think memory cards are largely a commodity, so when I usually buy mem cards online I just get whatever is a decent price from a brand I'm familiar with and trust.

I like the SanDisks as well. I forgot to mention to be sure you get a fast card, especially if you're going to be shooting RAW +JPG format. I'm using a class 6 card which seems to do well, but the card I had before that wasn't as fast and there was considerable lag time in between shots.

I use the Sandisk Extreme III SDHC's.

Because it's not just Extreme. It's not even Extreme II. It's Extreme III. And I'm all about many times Extreme.

I use the 8gb Eye-Fi Pro x2
Mostly because my shooting style with this camera is very casual, and I dont want to have to keep plugging in card readers, and taking the card out of the camera to offload 1-2 photos. If i'm going to be doing allot of shooting I use the 40D or the 5D.
