I have one Apple device on my list, a five year old iPod that I haven't gotten around to tearing down for the mini-drive (whatever they call it). And yet, the Galaxy Tab, two days from launch, is nowhere to be seen.
I'm sorry if this comes off as trolling, but I'm hoping a staffer sees this and takes my complaints under consideration.
Discussion about
Why the hell is "my gadget stream" loaded down with Apple crap?
Because the site is heavily Apple centric due to a number of factors - where it started, etc.
Look at the numbers for Apple products, then look at the numbers for what you have. Let's face it - this is not an in-depth geek community - most, from the top down, are basically evolved (or not) amateur commentators and users.
The site is consumer-lite, and that's how things are 'out there' as well. I doubt it's something you can change or influence, as they are going where the wind is blowing, as it were.

I definitely understand how that could be frustrating. A lot of it comes down to how our algorithms automatically generate content (such as "popular now," "big debate," and "support alert"). Since Apple products are so popular (both on our site and in general), they seem to disproportionately show up in these feeds.
That said, you can still control some of the options in your gdgt home stream. If you click the the "customize" button at the top of your gdgt stream, you can disable certain things from showing up. I realize this isn't a totally ideal solution at the moment.
The second issue could be because we're friends on the site. We have it setup to always display content that your friends add or post to the site. Myself, being an Apple fanboy, is probably responsible for a lot of the cruft in your stream!
We're working on ways to improve this (we're thinking of things like allowing users to prevent certain gadgets from showing up in their feed, regardless of whether or not their friends are starting discussions about them or not).
Hope this helps clear some things up though!
