Why no real images?

Why do we still have these concept images for the device? Why don't they release some press shots of the real thing? As I remember seeing it, it's about twice or three times as thick as this concept and has rounded edges. The concept images have the logo in two different places, but I guess that could just be a backlit logo that changes based on orientation. Are they planning to majorly slim it down for release?

The image above, as I understand it, is how it will look when completed. There were many different revisions (A,B,C), of which images have been floating around the web. The earlier prototypes were thicker and came in colors like pink, etc.

I'm really hoping that the rumors are true and it comes with a 3G option, that would make my day.

3G would be nice, but i would be fine with wifi since i don't think this would ever leave my house.

Yeah I don't think that I would take it out of my house either. I still can't really see myself purchasing this over a netbook. I probably won't even get a netbook because I want to get an Android phone and data plans aren't cheap.

Agreed, although Tmos data isn't horrible $35 for unlimited web and messages it does suck that they got rid of the $24 400 messages. And the only reason i want this is so i can surf on wifi and as a cool factor i guess, and as for a net book which i ill be getting in October for my birthday i am going to use that just for novels, but i can definitely see where you are coming from.

I think its supposed to be all about multimedia as long as it is in the web browser.

Yeah we keep seeing these but you never know until they come out with one. I just don't like it when companies hide stuff until launch and then launch that day. It can be a nice surprise factor but still, it seems like it would be better to release some type of physical data beforehand. Maybe they're trying to be like Apple.

Well he has shrouded this thing in mystery for the most part. He even got mad when specs were leaked.
