WHS 2011 fantastic or crap? The verdict is still out.

Hey Guys,

So I finally took the plunge and upgraded my HP MediaSmart EX485 home server from WHS v1 to WHS 2011. There's no official path to upgrade but I've already upgraded the CPU from a Celeron one core to the 2.2Ghz Dual Core E500 which made it much faster without any over heating. I've also upgraded the standard 2GB of ram to 4GB Cass 5 ram. Also gave it a huge performance boost with no heating issues.

I upgraded to WHS 2011 by finding a blog that detailed the whole process. Wasn't difficult at all (google it).

Now that I'm running WHS2011 though, I've been having some strange issues and I don't see how it can be hardware related.

As I'm typing this, I've issued the "move folder" command from the dashboard and I see is says please wait while the folder size is calculated. I know the size is 25Gb. I RDP'd into the Home server to find this out. Problem is, the process has been sitting at that screen for almost an hour now with nothing happening. When i go into the server and check the task manager, the cpu is idle at 0%...
This isn't only weird thing...
I've made sure the OS has all the latest patches and everything but this seems to just be weird software issues...

Sometimes I load the dashboard and it says please wait while it refreshes the list of shared folders. and it says there forever... I usually have to reboot the homeserver before it loads right...
When I ran the original WHS it had its issues but stability definitely wasn't one of them.

Has anyone else experienced weird software issues like this or is it just me?
