Who's going to jailbreak their iPad once it is available?
I know I am. Backgrounder and Multifl0w are necessities for me. So is Google Voice.
I am DEFINITELY jailbreaking it as soon as I can. I've been a jailbreaker since the first hacks came out for the first generation iPhone. I see so much more potential in the iPad for some awesome hacks to be applied.
If I get one, I most certainly will. Geohot is supposedly releasing a jailbreak for it the day it comes out.
With a 1Ghz proc and more memory than the 3GS, multitasking 4 or 5 apps, even CPU-heavy games, will be feasible. With the new, even faster than Kirikae, backgrounder app circuitous, I could definitely see someone playing NOVA or Assassin's creed, switch over to Beejive to answer a an IM, update Facebook, then switch back to the game.
Or if you get the 3G version, you could get the 3G Unrestrictor app and use Google Voice or the new Line2 app and actually be able to have a working phone.
You could use a wireless bluetooth keyboard to take notes. You could use the TVOut app to watch HD movies from the iPad's flash drive on a TV screen. The possibilities are just about limitless.

Absolutely. I've really been impressed with some of the MobileSubstrate hacks that've been coming out for iPhone lately. I've become particularly dependent on Notifier and InfoScreen. When I get an email, an icon appears in my status bar, and I can tap & hold on the status bar and read the email without leaving the current app. (Or, if the device is locked, I see the message right on the lock screen.)
