I think the only reason i purchased a DS was because i got a M3 simply for it, it really saved me over 300+ dollars on games i would have bought (more like 600+)

Who here has a R4 or M3, to play ROMs/Homebrew?
I love mine, it's so easy to use and easy to update. I love it's integration with the EZ3in1. Launching GBA games directly from Slot 1 is a killer feature. Rumble is nice too :-)
Agreed. I have both the R4 and Cyclo, and the Cyclo has a much nicer interface. But not neccesarily a deal-breaker, they both play the same roms just as well :)
True, i love the convenience of never having to keep switching game karts as well.

I just wish it supported bigger memory cards like 4gb+, at least mine doesn't support anything over 2gb. basically doesn't support shdc, but i usually get rid of games i finish/get bored with.

I have an M3 DS Real running an 8 GB card. I think you just have to make sure the card is formated with the right version of FAT.
go for the CycloDS Evolution it integrates with the EZ3in1 GBA extension so you can launch games straight from the CycloDS interface... none of the BS of patching or hooking anything up to a computer

I have a M3 Real and a R4. I didn't like the M3 as much when I first got it but now I like it better than the R4. I have less game freeze and playing issues. Both are worth the money and makes me enjoy my DS more.

R4 is the best DS purchase I made so far... does anyone know abt a DSi R4 hack?
My friends Mom asked me about these cards a while back for her son who is 6. It seems everyone is pirating games on the DS now. I wonder how long before developers (other than nintendo) stops supporting the DS. I think nintendo really has to fix this problem. Maybe they should've gotten rid of all the card slots and had internal memory only on the DSi (like say a Ipod touch) and have all content purchased online.
The best part is when you let your nephew take it (DS w/R4 +16GB) with you when you are out somewhere and the inevitable "what games do you have?" conversation starts up. My nephew loves to answer "all of them" with a shrug, and sometime throwing in a list of movies and music as an aside. Then when the other kid tries it and realizes what he's holding in his hands! Watching the kids deal with the realization is better than any game. Almost all of them try to wheel-n-deal, lose, or outright steal the cart. I have had parent's clearing out their pockets and offering over $100 cash. It all goes downhill, however, when the game must be pried from the hands (by the parents) of the screaming kid who does not want to part with the object of his dreams. It is great fun!
A friend gave me his R4 card a while back and it's served really well. I've heard people complain about it lacking compatibility with newer games, but I've yet to come across any problems.
Hey guys, I've read all of these and still don't have a clear picture of the best option.
The two favorites seem to be R4DS and CycloDS. I (think if I'm looking at the right thing) I can find an R4DS for under $10, while the CycloDS is almost $50. Thats a big price difference. I really just want to be able to play my old GBA and GB games, I don't need any of the media player functions. Will the $10 option work for me?
