What OS do you run on your Mini 9?
I've been dual booting the stock Windows XP and LinuxMint 6 for some time. Very happy with performance, but I am a bit bored and looking for a change. Considered the hackintosh route, but don't really want to invest in a runcore ssd right now. So what's everybody running on their mini and how do you like it?
Great machine for running OS X. I am currently running OS X (and will probably still with it) although I have run TinyXP Rev 09 (which worked amazing, as always); Dell's stock OS Ubuntu worked great for the short time I ran it; and I also tried out the One-Laptop-Per-Child (OLPC) Sugar OS for a short while.
The point is, the DM9 is the Swiss Army Knife of computers...it can run ANYTHING great!!

Windows 7 + Jolicloud as instant boot. I bought a 32GB SSD and 2GB RAM for it, so both run decently. OSX doesn't run badly either. Mind you, the tradeoff for running Ubuntu with the little speed difference it makes isn't really worth it - Moblin has run the best so far (hopefully including Facebook soon)
I run Windows 7 RC on mine ... only problem is after the install on my 8gb SSD i only have 1gb of empty space so i can't install too much software ... i really need to upgrade to 16gb SSD.

I'm running Windows 7 RC1.
It's every bit as snappy as Windows XP running on the Mini 9, and is not only visually slick, but functionally slick as well.
I'm surprised at how this has ended up being a great combination for me.

I have Win 7.7100 on a 16gb SSD and kept Ubuntu on a separate 8gb SSD. The Win 7 performance is good but I think that it is just a bit better than XP Pro SP3. I did have to force the Vista drivers for the WiFi because the Win 7 drivers didnt appear to support PEAP here at work. I wish the display had been made taller and the keyboard a little less squished (but then it would be the 10 ) . It is amazing all my friends though. When I pick up my laptop bag I have to check to see if I forgot it. I have DJ'ed from it several times using a WD Passport drive and Atomix DJ software. The music played smooth and I had only one hesitation when the WD Passport went into power save mode during a 20 minute break. I am working on its next task of shooting and processing QTVR pano's on site.
I run Win XP Pro stripped down to bare bones. I have about 10 processes running on start-up. Upgraded the RAM to two gigs and added a 16 gig SDHC card because I only have a 4 gig SSD. Which will be the next thing to update. If you are interested in speeding up XP be prepared to do some research to tailor the system exactly how you want it.

Monday is the last day to get the Mini 9 on sale starting at $199. Just picked one up for $312.44 with tax and shipping. I ordered the Dell Mini 9 with Unbuntu, 1.3MP camera ($10) and 16GB drive ($75). I will be attempting to put OS X on it, hope they didn't change anything that will prevent putting OS X on it.

OSX Leopard, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB SSD (from Dell), Bluetooth, Wifi b/g, 0.3 MP webcam—I get about 4.5 hours with wifi turned on, browsing the web. Watching HD from the web stutters too much, but Plex runs great with the Hulu plugin, and Hulu.com runs fine as long as you keep it in 360p mode. YouTube works fine too, but don't even bother trying the HD button. All-in-all, it's a great secondary laptop, especially for traveling, catching up on some eBook reading on the train, or showing off photos. I keep mine in one of those small paper notebook attaché's and most people don't even realize there is a laptop in there until I take it out. I paid just under $400 for it, and I must say that I feel that this was a great investment. Dell has apparently discontinued it, but I was able to buy another one in the form of the Vostra A90. The A90 is exactly the same laptop, but all black, including the inside (very slick looking).
Windows 7 RC, 2gb Runcore 32GB SSD. Super fast with the upgraded SSD.
Hackintoshed with 10.5.7. 32GB SSD/ 1GB RAM. Got it for my kids, and they love it.
Although for some reason, when they goto the webkinz site, the site's resolution is bigger than the mini's screen and doesn't let them scroll, so part of the bottom of the screen is cut off.

I'm running a significantly pared down version of os x 10.5.6 that fits on the 8gb ssd with almost 2gb to spare. works wonderfully! i have no problems worth mentioning, the crew over at mydellmini.com put together great tutorials, easy install.
