Discussion about
What happened to this by the way?
Well - say what you like, but apart from their adherence to PlaysForSure (bleh) Creative (on their full, properly screened players) consistently had the better PDP/PMP OSs in terms of usability / feature balance after the Nomad Jukebox III, especially once Rio were out of the picture. It was actually usable by people without bandages on their glasses and yet there were lots of nice features not found on the easy but also simplistic iPod.
Even with the crappy screen and the terrible control ergonomics, I still reasonably liked using the Zen Vision M for example - and that was solely down to the OS. Seems a shame to see them throwing in the towel.

I had a Creative Zen Touch (it's still around somewhere) that I loved. That sucker was/is solid. It still works but I found that it crackled in bassier parts of songs after a while when the same files played back fine on my computer. Kind of a bummer because I could have kept it for much longer.
Thank you Captain Obvious. The question was just as much whether Creative are still in the game, in terms of actually following through the Zii intention of OEMing for other makers.
