What games are you currently playing?

I thought it might be a good idea to see what people are playing and start getting suggestions for things to check out. I'm spending my time on Star Defense, Real Racing, and Space Ace. There's also some occasional Mass Effect Galaxy thrown in (which I don't really recommend).

Star Defense is a decent tower defense game that looks good. Space Ace is awesome, especially if you were into the old laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair. Real Racing has probably impressed me the most in regards to graphical horsepower on the Touch. What are you playing these days? Any recommendations?

The Creeps which is a tower defense game, it even got a recent update that allows you to kill those little islanders from Pocket God. I recommend it.

Ah Flight Control. I should've listed that too. The update with the new maps got me back into it.

Peggle and Bejeweled 2. I think I've racked up close to 50 hours of Bejeweled, and just recently got into Peggle. I've heard good things about Flight Control, so I'll probably check that out soon.

Has anyone played the Sims 3? I'm a little wary of paying the money for a version similar to those that used to be on the GameBoy and Nintendo DS.

I bought The Sims3. Its pretty similar to the original Sims game from 2001. Given the screen and memory constraints, that's actually not too bad. I've had a lot of fun with it, but it does get repetitive after a while.

I just got a 3D baseball game that's really fun, it's called Slugger I think. Worth $2.99, even though normally I don't pay more than a dollar for apps.

If you like cars, Need for Speed Underground is really fun to play. Also, i just got Fieldrunners. Its really a good tower defense game. Last is RSoccer09. Even if your not into soccer, its very easy to pickup and play.

I was wondering if you also had a chance to play Real Racing. I was interested in the comparison with Need for Speed, and whether it was worth it to have both or just stick to one.

Flight Control -- silly addictive and for $.99 well worth the hours I've put in. The localized leader board is a nice touch.

Peggle - caught this one on sale for a buck as well and have recently been spending my commute time with this one.

Both of these games allow you to listen to your own audio and to pick up where you left off. Excellent if you get interrupted during your ride to work for transfers etc...

I got the Peggle on sale as well. Have been playing non stop ever since.

Does it bother you how all these iPod apps interrupt your standard audio? Why isn't Apple making universal accommodations for that via the settings? I've been trying to get Apple to make some changes but they aren't listening - I think more people need to submit a bug report or "feature request" (though I hardly see using the iPod as a music player as a "feature" really; its predecessor was a music player!)

Loving Fieldrunners, Bejeweled 2, Solebon (30 solitare games), and Rolando.
Also a bit of Sally's Salon, Diorama, and PapiJump.

I've been playing Hero Of Sparta recently too, its definitely a must right now for only 99 cents. Although it doesn't lag very much on my Touch 2G, it does sometimes freeze at the startup and I have to exit the app and start it back up again.

Has anyone given DOOM Resurrection a try? I am hesitant to shell out $10.00, but I think it might be worth it.

Playing Doom. I like it. Story mode seems to be moving the character through the world on rails and you tilt the ipod to shoot at enemies, tap to pick things up etc. I like the controls better than what they did with Wolf3D, but it still feels a little less involved. (maybe I'm missing something?).

The speed, sound, graphics, etc., are all worth it. I plan on playing it through.

Yeah I bought Doom. I'd say it's worth the $10. The graphics really impressed me and it's got a really good control scheme. Glad they put in a Free Play mode so you can play any of the 8 levels once you beat them in the story mode.

Excited to see what Id Software does with Quake 1 and 2 once those are released. Wondering what they'll do with the controls since Doom is on rails.

I far too easily fall prey to the (relatively) cheap or free games on the Touch and currently have 32 on mine. However the ones that consistently distract me and prohibit productivity are: Peggle, Flight Control, Trism, Galcon, Crayon, and Monster Pinball

I swear, any ngmoco game. I played and beat Rolando, and I am working on Star Defense.

I can't wait until Rolando 2.

All of their games are so polished, it's very professional.

I play Epic Pet Wars all the time. At first glance it seems kind of lame, but once you get into it, it's pretty addicting. Also - Inotia, Zombieville, iDracula, wolf3d, and Pocket God are my other big time-killers.

Need for Speed Undercover. Graphics are good and it makes good use of the tilting functions. Just a shame that career mode is a little too easy and drift mode very much harder.

Dinosmash Online, Glyder, Hero of Sparta. Dinosmash is very awesome. The usual course of iPod games: "hmmm, this looks cool....all right, I'll buy it... COME ON HURRY UP DOWNLOAD... what? how do you play this- oh that's how...ZOMG THIS IS FUUUUUUNNN!!!.... yay!!! I beat it!!!" Two days after that, you think, "Why did I buy this?" Dinosmash avoids this buy just being an online shoot-em-up. The only game that has ever rested in my dock.

I like Magnetic Joe. The first version is completely free and very hard. Haven't tried Magnetic Joe 2.
