What do you think about Chromebooks & Google Chrome OS?

I think Chrome OS is more viable for Thin Clients than Netbooks. Netbooks are portable, and sometimes need to be usable without an internet connection. Interestingly, they're also bringing things back to the old days of workstations networked to a mainframe.

I think the idea of Chrome OS is good and all but it isn't bringing anything to the table. In fact it takes away a lot for most. It can work for those who just browse the internet and consume media but I still don't buy it as a full blown OS. I would never pay for a Chromebook especially at the price points they are selling them for when I can get a netbook that does more at the same price. I received a Cr-48 through the pilot program so I don't have to worry about paying for one but either way I think the idea of paying for just the internet is crazy.
