Well, I got bitten by the DNS issue and slow downloads on Apple TV.

I was using OpenDNS on my router and Apple TV was telling me it would take 12 - 16 hours to download a movie. Once I updated my DNS to use the 'crappy' Comcast servers, I got better downloads because of the known geo location of the Comcast DNS servers. I think Data centers need GPS like our mobile devices have. I work in the testing industry and too many times have I been bitten by incorrect 'location' data when that is used for IP routing...

This is likely to become a bigger issue going forward too. It seems likely that streaming video services are going to increasingly use things like edge servers and be highly optimized via CDNs.

DNS is increasingly becoming an issue of concern on the Interent.
