WD TV Live also for data backup?

Hello everybody,

I'd like to purchase the WD TV Live but besides the obvious media playback, I would also love to backup my PC data to the USB drive connected to the WD TV Live box.
This way, all my data is save and I also have all my media files on the USB drive ready to play back on the TV without my laptop.

So: how does the WD TV live mount the USB drive? Can a typical backup program use it for scheduled backups?

you will see your HDD on the network just like a share. as long as the WDTV Live is powered on I dont think it will be an issue.

The WDTV would have to be left on at all times
