Unreal. Recabled them and they got EVEN better
These are my main brain huggers. They see at least an hour a day through a Ray Samuel's predator headphone amp. Anyone else run these through a small portable?
Any links to recabling guide? Sounds like a cheap way to get more out of them. Wouldn't mind a cable that went straight to 1/8th without a converter either.
After I got them I just hooked them up to my receiver and ran a radio station on them for about 2 weeks straight. The cones get a bit more supple and the low range really shines. Out of the box they're great but they really don't start to shine until you've slammed them with hours and hours of play. That's a great amp though, HeadRoom has some of the best customer service in the market.

I bought these a little while ago, along with the HeadRoom Total Bithead amp. They have incredible range out of the box, but for music with deeper bass, I think they will require somewhere around 300 hours of burn-in time. Have you had any experience with this? Most review sites claimed a whole new world opened up after 300-1000 hours. I run a pink noise / white noise file overnight sometimes to warm these guys up, but I am still pretty far from that magic number. Overall though, love the design, and think they are a great investment.
