Discussion about
To the users who had this:
What did you replace it with? Overall, would you buy these again?
I ended up replacing mine with the Shure SRH-840, a great closed set of headphones. While I do miss the openness of the HD650, I really prefer how isolated the SRH-840's are since I typically use them in noisier environments, and coworkers don't hear what I'm listening too as well.
But I must warn, closed cans are not for everyone, a set of closed cans sound different than open cans. Open cans like the HD650 sound a bit more natural than the SRH-840, but the SRH-840 is one of the best sounding closed cans that I've ever listened to. I recommend giving them a test run before you buy them.

I concur with the superiority - for a closed can with the effectiveness of the Shure, especially for a shade under $200 - of the 840, but if you're in an environment where the HD 650 can be used normally, there's absolutely no need to tie your hands behind your back with a closed can.
Me, I only need closed cans when outside - and the SRH 840 is one of the more ridiculous looking headphones when seen on the head. Not for me.
To a limited extent it also depends on what you're using it out of - while I don't buy most of the Head-Fi.org nonsense, really basic / flawed output can kill the potential of the Senn.

I doubt that I will be replacing these honestly. They have the sound signature I like and my new tube amp only dots my apostrophe on these phones. Now I do plan to get other phones to accompany them, but I suspect these will be my staples. Otherwise I have Beyerdynamic DT770s and my next pair will probably be AKG K701s.
Another HD650. Yes.
It's my primary non-electrostatic headphone. And has been for a while, despite being temporarily usurped by other (in some cases, ever so slightly) lesser phones from Denon, Grado, AKG et al. The HD800 seems to be Sennheiser's misguided answer to the even more misguided Sony Qualia 010 - and as such I'll be avoiding it by a mile.

Update: It has been replaced by the Beyerdynamic Tesla 1.
For now.
The more upfront, yet not overwhelming nature of the T1 seems to agree with me for the moment.
Given previous experience, it is entirely likely for me to return to the HD650 again. I've had at least 6 sets one after another by now, counting damaged pairs (Since they're used in my home office, I have a habit of 'chair-pulling' these).
