Discussion about
This looks perfect for the classroom
I work as a junior high school teacher and currently carry around a small whiteboard and dry erase markers to help individual students with problems. I would love to replace that messy system with something as slick as this (or possibly the Boogie Board).
I agree.
Boogie boards are, by far, cheaper. But the Noteslate would allow you to do a number of things, from my understanding including:
- Distributing digital handouts on which they could complete work.
- Archiving all of their notes/work.
And because there are some online/social features NoteSlate wanted to employ, (and this is speculative) there could be a "sharing" element to the devices, which might mean you could harvest their work electronically without much trouble.

There's an argument to be made that simpler is better, I think.
While I would love to see the (speculative) social features for personal use, one of the things I like about the Boogie Board is that its lack of features forces kids to copy whatever notes I write in their own handwriting on their own paper. Maybe I'm just a mean teacher but I think it helps them to actually learn the material rather than just go through the motions.
Thanks for the comment.

Hmmmm, I had just been excited about this for meetings, but now you are making me realize there are probably a ton of use cases like this that could make it viable for a while. I will be drumming up some more interest, now, among the teachers I know in order to increase the odds of this actually making it to market and surviving.
In fact, we homeschool, and I am now planning to get two for the younger ones to use so we can easily archive their work without having tons of paper everywhere. Of course, assuming I can get my wife to go along with that plan. :)
