This is a must avoid with anything but the lates hardware

The update turned my 2010 13" MBP into a slug. I have 8 gigs of Ram and it's like everything from login to launching apps takes forever. Looking at the reviews in the app store pretty much backs up my experience. My hope is an update will fix this soon or it's rollback time.

I haven't had a problem with my 2010 13". I also run 8GB of ram, but also a ssd, so the difference may lie there.

Have you tried a fresh install of it rather than an upgrade? You can use a time machine backup to restore files after too.

The SSD may be the big difference, I had issues with Lion for the first few months as well. I may try Mountain Lion again at some point, I paid for it...
Then again Samsung 830's are really getting reasonable.
