This is a great lens. It allows a lower end camera (450D) to perform much better in low light conditions.

I am very happy with this lens, especially for the money.

Yeah! The 50mm 1.8's are pretty fantastic lenses. Relatively cheap, great lowlight, good for portraits. I'd like to get a 50mm 1.4, but can't justify the cost at the moment (I need to get back into using my DSLR more).

I'd be willing to wager that the 50mm lenses are probably some of the most popular lenses on gdgt.
