I have constantly experienced that with this machine. In October, I put the laptop in front of a dehumidifier that was pumping out 60 degrees Fahrenheit air to cool it down from 90 degrees Celsius. Even doing that wouldn't allow me to play Dawn of War 2. I have read that this is caused by a defective architecture in the NVIDIA 8600m Gt cards.

I recently bought a studio xps 13 and the difference between that and the 1530 couldn't be more pronounced. Even on idle this thing is churning out upwards of 70°C. Why I haven't fried the Graphics card and motherboard yet is beyond me. Dell obviously had to make compromises to achieve its sleek profile. The location of the fan and vent is very poor as it is obscured when placed on the lap. You would be well advised to invest in a cooling pad or stand.
