Or you could just get a netbook. It'd be a lot better suited for typing out notes during class than an iPad.

I agree with Peter. Trying to take notes on your iPad would not go well. I would definitely go for a netbook instead. Maybe shoot for a 12" as you will most likely appreciate the extra screen real estate and the ability to multitask.

I have the EeePC 1201N and I love it. Pretty sure they are coming out with a new version of it, plus they now have ones made with aluminum for added durability.

What Peter said, don't buy an iPad and expect to get stuff done with it, you won't.

true. your not gonna even get a pendrive working on it. at least not with any add-ons. even with that im not sure if it will work. netbook. or just get a macbook. which is of course more expensive though

The iPad's much more of a consumption device than a creation device. I don't think it would work well for an education environment. Note taking would be difficult and slow and you can't print anything from it. A good ultra-portable notebook would be a much better option IMO.

ipad is great and all. but i kinda think of it as a "home" item. but if u really think u wanna get it then get the bluetooth keyboard. otherwise. a netbook will fit the occasion better

You have the option of the mac bluetooth keyboard as I think this works. However, when you use your student discount you can get a macbook that would be far more useable. I hate the UK pricing of this device as it is far too much and all the people at work have gone off the idea of buying it now.
