I jumped on the Lion bandwagon when I got my 4S for all the iCould compatibility. But after a month or two I've found that I don't use Mission Control (I liked expose better), and launch pad is useless, since I keep all my mostly used apps in stacks or quick launch with spotlight. And all the auto syncing of things to my phone is done by iTunes wirelessly. Theres a few other beefs I have too, but their minor.
I never had any crashes or anything, but I just feel like Lion is more unstable. I do heavy media work with FCP7, AE, Photoshop and some C4D.
I did a clean install of Lion when I upgraded. Running 10.7.2 MBP 2.5Ghz Core2 Duo 4GB RAM.
Any thoughts about going back?

Thinking of Downgrading from Lion back to Snow Leopard
If not using Mission Control and Launch Pad are your biggest beefs, then I don't know what the problem is. I don't use them either, but it doesn't mean I want to go back to Snow Leopard. And if you aren't crashing, why downgrade? Seems to me that the attempt to downgrade might introduce problems and if you don't have any problems now...
No major system-killing problems. But when moving files from a finder window to another (or to a device) I get a flash of random pixel noise on my desktop. It also sometimes doesn't agree with After Effects or FCP.
I can't full explain the unstable feeling. It just doesn't feel as solid as Snow Leopard did when I moved up from 10.5

I just went back to Snow Leopard today.
And I'm glad. I guess I forgot how much faster Snow Leopard was (I was using Lion since the last developer beta full time). Snow Leopard is significantly and noticeably faster in most every way, at least in my (admittedly limited) usage of it so far. Also, what once caused beach balls in Lion, Snow Leopard handles with ease.
I think that Lion will get to that point; it just needs more time to harden. And I'm happy to sit on my reliable Snow Kitty until it has (personally, I'm thinking one or two more revisions).
If when you say "unstable," you mean random slowdowns, beach balls, and maybe even a force quit required here or there (as well as other little bugs), and it's annoying you enough, I'd suggest a downgrade.

A time machine backup never worked for me. However, i did find that i could just drag and drop files from the time machine backup on to the main hard drive. For example, the "Pictures folder on the backup" could replace the regular "pictures" folder.
Trging to use a time machine backup made the system not even get past thr setup phase, annoyingly enough.

If you do go back to snow leopard you can download an app called cloud, it is exactly the same as I cloud but for snow leopard, personally I prefer snow leopard because lion is trying to turn a L.T. into a iPhone or Ipad.
I was using 10.7.2 but I couldn't care less about using lion because it is so unnecessary, I might as well buy an ipad.
