The Nano is the "One More Thing"? :0(

I am very disappointed that the Nano seems to be their closing "bang". No camera for the Touch, much less the video camera, no Beatles for iTunes. To me this is a fairly NON-event for Apple. I am surprised Steve even bothered to show up.

just typical price drops and incremental product advances... the speed increase of the iPod Touch lines are almost more important than the stupid camera! But we'll see, maybe the kids will love it!!

Overall I was very disappointed with the presentation today. I was really happy to see Mr. Jobs healthy again, but beyond that, they've failed to introduce anything of any real importance. They bumped capacity up in the line of player that has seen drastically reduced sales(though I know some of you still need it), they didn't add anything interesting to the touch, and the only thing that they did to the Nano besides making it more Flash-Zune like(Has a similar case design, and they added an FM radio, and Song Tagging) was to add a camera that can't even take still photos*.

What a total snooze-fest. There was nothing revolutionary and iTunes 9 gained more bugs than features. My iPhone does seem more stable with 3.1, but I didn't need a media blitz to hear about it. Announcing the camera on the Nano is a nice novelty. Saying that the Touch doesn't need it because customers want it more for gaming is just total bull. They better launch the super-secret tablet thingy that isn't supposed to be a netbook but really is, soon.

iTunes 9 seems to crash a lot more for me when just browsing the store, i could keep iTunes 8 open for weeks without it crashing but since 9 came out it's died 5 times on me. Love the new features though.

I didn't think the "one more thing' was that bad, seems like Apple want all youtube videos to by made on a mac, using iPods, iPhones and iSight cams. Which makes sense, since the youtube generation is starting to grow up and go to college, and if they already have tried out video editing in Apple stores, in addition to making videos on their devices, it seems like a natural choice for them to get a Mac before college.

I don't know what everybody is so disappointed about. It's not like they came out and said that you would be shocked and amazed. They announced the event like a week or two before hand, and updated some of their existing hardware and software. Good for them. I like the new iTunes, and I think the iPod nano will be a good competitor to the flip, and hopefully in a year or two it will have an HD camera. For now, VGA is very good quality to have in such a small form factor device.
