I haven't been keeping up with what was coming with the Boxee iPad app, but I was excited based on the idea that it could replicate the functionality of Boxee Box. Well, I just installed the app and I'm sort of disappointed.
Here are the primary features:
- Friends stream (Videos your friends are sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr)
- Watch later (Use the Boxee bookmarklet to mark videos to watch later via computer)
- Featured (Videos that the Boxee staff highlight)
- Video streaming (Stream video from your PC to the iPad or iPad to your Boxee Box)
These are all great features (Watch later is my favorite), but I was looking forward to being able to use the Boxee apps (Revision3, Reddit TV, etc) on the iPad since I primarily use Boxee on my HTPC to watch video podcasts. Also, us Boxee (non-Box) users still have to wait to get the iPad to Boxee streaming, among other things.
Have you tried out the Boxee iPad app? What do you think?

The Boxee app for iPad is now available, what do you think?
When it was announced I was pretty excited because I have a jailbroken ipad2 and I run XBMC on it. The UI is pretty clunky and you have to know what you're doing to get the most out of it. I've been using boxee and xmbc for some years now so I like it. BUT since the boxee ipad app came out i find myself pretty disappointed. I was hoping they were going to port the app over to the iPad like XBMC has. This isn't in anyway as powerful as the boxee app is. I understand that their decision not to port the original app was not to upset apple and possibly get the app rejected from the app store. BUT I'd rather have had the jailbroken powerhouse that is boxee than this watered down app they released.
