Still like this better for mp3s only

While I have an iphone (and no big complaints with that), I still prefer using this ipod just for listening to music.

Why?

Mainly, the scroll wheel controls mean that I can control basic functions of it without looking at it (play, pause, forward & back).

That's handy if I want to keep it in my pocket or use it while at the gym where I may be distracted.

I suppose that I could get used to it if I switched away from it, but I'm not planning on getting rid of this one until it dies. Have done one battery exchange already, but that was probably unnecessary.

I agree with that for sure. The iphone and touch are definitely great products in themselves, but Apple should understand that having the convenience to have these basic functions available without looking at the screen is a pretty big deal .

Also, trying to use a touchscreen when you have sweaty/wet hands does not work very well, not to mention that it's probably not good for the device in the long run.

I agree with the comments above .. I use this for music and audiobook listening, and keep my iPhone for phone calls. Maybe a waste of some of the iPhone's capabilities, but walking for a few miles with an iPhone in the pocket doesn't make much sense compared to the Nano.

I never would have purchased one of these, but I got one as a prize so I decided to use it. It really is a pleasure to use and I found the "fatty" for factor to be pretty nice. It doesn't have enough storage to be a primary device for me, but if you have a small collection or don't mind swapping tracks then it is a nice solution.

lol ditto My boss gave me one and I kinda like it. 4 gigs is nothing, but its enough for some good albums and mixes.... The scroll wheel is a little too thin for me, but I'm used to the 5th gen iPods nice thick wheel....
