Hey yall
Been really tempted to buy a this canon for a while now, but there are a couple of things holding me back. The main one being as the subject, how good is the sound that is recorded with the video. My main goal is to be able to acquire video of concerts at a festival Im heading of to in a while, and I would be greatly disappointed if the sound would be distorted or otherwise by the loud volume of the music.
Even though I am hoping to use the video capabilities a lot, I am hoping to buy a camera, there is no need to point me in the direction of a real video camera. Also my demands are not of very high quality sound, as reference I am hoping to be able to match or come close to the quality of this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dEAVq3mIT8
The video is filmed with a Samsung WB500 compact camera, and I would get it if I wasnt looking for a much smaller camera.
Hoping someone with this camera might have checked the video capabilities out, and can help me with this!
Thanks
Richard
Discussion about
Sound quality with video
Hey!
I have had this camera for a couple months now in the red color and I love it. It's so small, it fits in my jeans' rear pocket! It takes great photos and I find the videos to be all that I need. I haven't tried it at a concert, but I just uploaded a video for you at a recent wedding. You can find it here: vimeo.com/5601751
The video is filmed outdoors with a live jazz band behind me. There is obviously a lot of people talking near me, but I think it's pretty good quality for being behind the camera. I hopes this helps a little, it's the closest type of video I have to what you are looking for!
If I can help you with anything else please just ask. And I'd be happy to test it out for you if I haven't already experienced it!

Heya, thanks for the reply
Good to hear from someone that is happy with the camera! really very keen on the size of it, and think this outweighs the not so very wide optic lens. Also for what is merely meant to be a sentimental memory for me to watch (and dream my way back to my concerts), the sound quality should be more then enough.
Thanks for the info! pretty set on getting the camera now.
