The new controller looks good. The new Infamous looks good. Watch Dogs looked interesting and the graphics on Killzone were amazing. Driveclub is interesting, but boring as hell. Other games showed some promise, but nothing to distinguish them from current games being played right now.

Sadly, there's very little reason to buy this console at this point. All these games could be played on the PS3 and the minor updates in graphics were overplayed. I like that it does include 4K playback for video and photos, but that tech is still 5 years from mainstream.

I'm sad that they said the Dualshock 3 won't work on the new system, but that doesn't mean that there won't be a work around, as there currently is for using the dualshock 2 on the PS3. The lack of backwards compatibility is poorly explained and I fully expect Sony to have a work around for playing PS3 discs as well.

I'm very surprised that Sony believes in disc based gameplay for the future. The PS Vita sure does show the opposite as it is all flash. I was thinking that the system would not simply be another box with a disc drive, but something more imaginative that would have the option for an external disc drive, a la Apple's superdrive for the Mac.

Being developer centric helps Sony get back to what made them popular, helping smaller developers make amazing games. Games sell consoles, at least in the past. Right now, playing with your friends helps to sell a lot of Xbox 360s, so we'll see if these exclusive games actually sell, since in the past few years they certainly have not. Gears of War 3 outsold all PS exclusives the year it was released and the Killzone and Infamous they displayed do little to the mainstream (Xbox in the US) to sway that opinion from Microsoft.

I wish they said more about the new PS Eye and talk more about the PS Vita. Remote play and capability for 4K looks to be the only reasons for me to upgrade, assuming I can sell my PS3 system for a decent price and find a way to play my existing game library. Sony doesn't have a strong history of standing against things that fans want, backwards compatibility early in a next gen console's lifecycle being one of them.

I'm excited. Not getting it at launch. Killzone and Infamous looked compelling! I need DCUO to work on it.
