Sharp AQUOS LC-C3237U

First, the photo above is NOT a LC-C3237U. The speakers on the LC-C3237U are not visible from the front (as they are in above photo). The speakers are hidden in the bottom of the main assembly, and face directly downward.

I acquired a LC-C3237U some weeks ago and have been very disappointed with it's performance and features.

1. Takes about 30 seconds for a picture to appear, when first turned on.
2. Took about 20 minutes for the unit to scan & lock on to available channels.
3. Tuner has poor sensitivity. (Won't lock on to about 8-10 channels which one of those $40 converter boxes does.)
4. Changing channels is extremely slow, averaging 5-6 seconds.
5. Remote controller is cheaply made with buttons reversed from those of most other TV remotes.
6. Remote control has extremely narrow angle (+-30 degrees) for changing channels/functions.
7. With unit set to standard/recommended factory adjustments, most grays (clothing, hair, etc) have a definite green cast. Grass (such as when watching forest areas or golf games is an extremely bright and an exaggerated green.
8. Sound from built-in speakers is very poor (probably due their downward facing design).
9. Unit has no headphone output.
10. Owners manual is a total joke. The manual consists of one piece of paper measuring about 36" square, printed on both sides in very small print and with NO index.
11. Many functions (i.e. horizontal/vertical picture adjustment do not work (a fact confirmed by statement in "manual" under Position.
12. Unable to see any difference in picture when using "Sharpness" adjustment.
13. If Mute function is activated, volume will be reset to Zero, if mute not removed within 4-5 minutes.
14. Sharp support is very poor and personnel have a "we don' t give a damn" attitude. Don't expect any help there.

In summery, the LC-C3237U is poorly designed and Sharp's support is even worse. Skip this one and check out the other major brands.
