S90 is my dream point and shoot
I'm really lusting after this camera and am anxiously saving my pennies for this (among other gadgets). I've been looking for new point and shoots for awhile to supplement my DSLR (which is too big to carry everywhere). The size, features, light sensitivity, and image stabilization of this camera excite me.
Is anyone else pumped up about this?

On most point and shoots I've ever owned, I've rarely used the camera for anything related to telephoto photography. Usually, they are restricted to portraits of friends and family in a social setting, or taking landscape / architecture images of places I visit.
But maximum aperture and light sensitivity are a big deal for me. That's why I'd pick this over something like the TZ7.

The S90 is smaller and more portable / pocketable for my tastes, has a faster lens (maximum aperture of f/2), and a larger LCD (3" on S90 vs. 2.8" on G11 - though this is kind of negligible). Otherwise, the cameras are fairly equal (the G11 does have a better zoom lens, but it's not as fast, starting at f/2.8).
Yeah, but why this over the Panasonic LX3? It's slightly bigger, but it has more or less the same features, HD video and might be cheaper than this new camera.

Amazon doesn't seem to have a proper pre-order page up yet. Currently, it only lists a random third party company.
Adorama does have a pre-order page with a pretty nice kit:

Depending STRONGLY on the image quality once it's released and reviewed, I could be sorely tempted to sell my Panasonic LX3. I do love the Panny, but that 60mm "zoom" bites me in the butt often. If image quality and low light performance is comparable on the S90, I'm in!
It's almost there... like so many cameras... I'm waiting for a this camera with HD 1080p...
I just bought one from the local Best Buy. comments on it as soon as I get a spare SDHC card from amazon. :/ From what I've been able to see with my short preview at Best Buy, this camera is amazing, especially considering how compact it is. Even at the higher ISO ranges, the pictures come out quite usable, and definitely repairable with some post processing. :]
