Resolution

I'm a big fan of this monitor. it's one of the few that has a 1200 vertical resolution. most of the others are cutting down to 1080 : (

Wonderful monitor for my university housing. Instead of having two displays for computers and games, the 2408 has a plethora of inputs for computer inputs for my computers and gaming systems.

Do you use it as your TV as well? I'm looking into getting a 24" monitor or larger to use as my TV with my PC and tuner card (I already have those) so I'd be interested to hear about that.

Haven't had much experience using it as a TV.

If I remember ... mine came with a VGA, HDMI, and the printer cable thing (forgot the name of it XD) for the USB slots.

I love the use of PIP for watching ESPN or something while doing some homework ;)

I got this monitor to replace a 21" Dell CRT Monitor, that was purchased new with a PII 450 Mhz system when that was top-of-the-line.

I ordered this unit having seen units like it at the company where I was working.

I was expecting 5 inputs, 1920x1200, 5 inputs, (VGA, DVI-D, Component, S-Video, Composite) and a 4-slot media card reader, but apparently, this model is a new revision, mostly the same except three card slots were consolidated into one slot, (leaving 1 CF, and one MemoryStick/SD/MMC, and maybe one or two others I don't have handy) and also giving me a second DVI port, an HDMI port, and a display port.

It also came with three video cables, (VGA, DVI-D, and Display Port)

I currently own one. ( about 2 yrs now) . Love the resolution, however its a little too bright ..even after turning down the brightness level.Mine also have backlight ghosting at the edges. That doesn't bother me tho .... hardly ever sit and watch "nothing" on my screen lol . The greatest thing about this monitor are the number of inputs!!!...man it's wickid!!
I do everything with it ...movies, web design, photo editing, writing code ( screen real estate is a plus for this), Tv , games .....did I leave out anything ?..oh yes Dell makes the best monitor stand.

I'd have to agree with pretty much everything you said. The resolution itself is just breathtaking and at the distance I am from it now it seems like I'm in front of a 40" in my living room. A great monitor and great resolution to go with it. It produces enough light that it lights up my entire room at night with the lights off :o
