Request a gdgt Score!

I LOVE this new feature we just pushed out: request a gdgt Score! Ever see a product you wanted a gdgt Score for? Well, let us know and we'll get to it as soon as we can!

We're not joking around, either: whenever you click that button your gdgt Score request gets sent directly to our research team's work chat room.

Note: if you're logged out we ask for an email to take the request (so we can let you know when we've posted the score).

P.S. -Don't worry about requesting gdgt Scores of big, noteworthy products that haven't yet launched. We always get those up as soon as the reviews hit!

Is their some form of weighting requests to prioritize which devices get GDGT scores? Or is it first come first served?

I imagine more requests, the higher priority it is, just making sure.

We definitely take request volume into account, along with other factors, including the volume of products awaiting scoring, and whether there are new, major products in our queue. Keep the requests coming, and we'll keep scoring!

I just submitted my first score request. Nice! I'm sure the gadget I requested won't get anyone else to request it, but at least it's in the queue now, and that certainly goes a ways toward making me feel like I have a little input into the site. The psychological aspect of this new feature seems to be the biggest advantage for GDGT as a company.

So I'll say it again: nice feature! :)

And I'll have to review the gadget I requested once I get it, and maybe that will give it some exposure (the Vulkano Flow). I'm hoping it brings some competition to Slingbox!

Edit: I see it's only on pages of products that don't have any reviews.

top left bellow the big score tag when is showing that there is currently no rating

Hey ryan. I think you guys should start thinking about including video reviews. Tons of people prefer to see reviews, for example, on youtube.

My biggest problem with gdgt is that many of my favorite tech products aren't even in your database. There are no modern home appliances like robot vacs (Neato, Roomba, Scooba, Mint, etc.) or instant single-serve coffee makers like Tassimo and Nespresso. They do have a decent amount of health-related tech products like Fitbit, Jawbone Up and Withings body scale though.

I don't think you read that right. He's complaining that the products in the first category he mentions aren't even on GDGT. A product has to be on the site in order to request a review. I am also waiting for GDGT to add the Roomba's category to the site!

Oh, and the Keurig would have a way better score than the Tassimo :)
