Proformence hit while running windows? And windows 7

Hey i was just wondering how much of a proformence hit the mac book pros get when running a virtual copy of windows. I really want to purchase one but a lot of the programs i have are windows only (3ds max, auto cad, revit) and i need to know if running them via a virtual version of windows will vastly effect the speed and proformence of the machine.

Also would you be able to put windows 7 on this thing?

OK, running in virtual machine it will be slower. This is obvious since you are running 2 OS's at the same time plus whatever programs you so choose. Instead of VMing it you can also dual boot in which you choose what OS you want to run on boot up. This will not slow down your computer you just need to decide how much HDD each install gets to use.

Yes you can put on Win 7. Right now the release candidate is free for download and will run almost a year until you have to decide to buy or not.
