Priced at $399, the costs of a 64GB iPod Touch and 2 8GB models are the same. My question to you guys is which would you choose?

This may seem like a stupid question but I'm interested in finding out whether more users are interested in having the larger capacity device or two separate devices with the lowest capacity.

I don't own an iPod touch anymore, but when I did I found 8GB to be sufficient. It takes a bit more management, but apps don't (usually) take up that much space, and I rarely would need to have more than one movie on there at a time.

As the App Store has grown, I find my 32GB model to be filling up rather quickly. Most of my media remains on my iPod Classic due to superior audio quality though.

The reason I ask this question is that I often multitask with my iPod Touch and iPhone side by side. I wonder if other people actually do this or if they would rather opt for one device with much more storage.

For me there is no question. You get more capacity and a one-device solution for the same price. I will almost always choose that option when it presents itself. I sold my iPod Touch and am now using my Nexus One for everything portable. It's fantastic to only have one device to think about.

Even if it wasn't a larger capacity, I would probably still opt for one device.

That is definitely true. A one device solution is much more efficient and provides more options. For me, 2 devices side by side present a different workflow much like how iOS 4 has affected many users.

I know people who would never give up their multi-device setup because it works so well for what they are doing. I just got tired of juggling things so I went for minimal instead.

Option C Neither: my ipod touch usage has fallen to zero since I purchased an iPad. I have no need of that device anymore, and I'm considering selling it.

If I had to choose I would get at least a 16GB model as it has the OpenGL support.

Hmmm, that's interesting .I would've thought that a pocketable device like the iPod Touch or iPhone evokes more usage. As for the model, there are currently onl 8, 32, and 64GB models which I believe all have OpenGL support (this is the new dual camera, retina display model).

Ah, my bad: I was thinking of the previous iteration. Thanks for the clarification.

It depends of what you want it for. I wanted the touch to carry all my music around in trips and the house. I got rid of my classic and I have a touch with apps, games, and all my music and pictures (about 45GB worth). But, if you just want a player that can use some great apps, the 8 or 16 GB is more than enough. The iPod touch is a lot of fun and a way to sample iOS without a contract.
